50 Cent está a punto de dar a conocer su nuevo álbum, "Before I self destruct", que será su cuarta grabación de estudio. Inicialmente el álbum estaba previsto para el 2007, pero la fecha se fue posponiendo y en su lugar se publicó "Curtis" ese año.
El primer sencillo del nuevo disco de 50 Cent ya fue publicado en octubre con el título de "Get up", y producido por Scott Storch. 50 Cent describió "Before I Self Destruct" como un disco más "oscuro" y "agresivo" que el anterior.
